Justin “Boomer” Prinstein advises the company on new project development for sports clients. He is an expert on talent evaluation systems and front office decision culture.
Boomer played college baseball at George Washington University, where he graduated with a B.A. in Political Science. He then played seven years of professional baseball overseas while also earning a J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.
After his playing career, Boomer went on to succeed as a coach, his teams winning numerous international tournaments.
From 2009 to 2023, Boomer was an MLB Scout for the Houston Astros, Baltimore Orioles and Cincinnati Reds. With the Orioles, Boomer helped the club advance to the American League Championship Series in 2014 by scouting the opposition and played a role in numerous transactions to help build the Major League roster.
After joining the Reds as a pro scouting and international crosschecker, Boomer helped supervise key areas in the international market and was instrumental in acquiring numerous top prospects. He also spearheaded special projects to develop new strategies and processes for evaluating and developing talent in the Reds organization.
Boomer now consults for international professional baseball teams, primarily in Asia, and is a featured contributor to the online publication Baseball Prospectus.
Boomer is the founder and Executive Director of International Stars Baseball, a non-profit organization that has provided free baseball training, mentorship, and life skills to hundreds of youth participants in the city of Detroit since 2012 and has helped place a number of players in college baseball programs across the United States.
Boomer is originally from Detroit but currently resides in Phoenix, where you can find him DJing vinyl around town in his spare time.
